Coordinates Congressional Visits in Washington,
D.C. for 
Rural Members
California State Rural Health Association (CSRHA) invites rural
members and colleagues to join us in Washington D.C. during the
National Rural Health Association’s (NRHA) Rural Health
Policy Institute. The meeting is
scheduled from February 26 through February 28, 2007 at the Grand
Hyatt Hotel, Washington D.C.
CSRHA will
coordinate visits for California attendees to meet with rural
congressional members and leaders on Tuesday, February 27. To

opportunity to hear from high-level administrative officials and
to advocate your rural community concerns with your Congressional
representatives. You will also have an opportunity to meet rural
colleagues across the nation during the meetings.
It is critical that we continue to educate members of
Congress about the issues important to us and to promote the health
of rural communities in California. We need your help
to share real stories about the need for access to quality health
care for rural residents, and the barriers you have identified
to sustaining a viable health care delivery system in your region.
Over the course of three days, you will also hear from experts
in the field, including members of the Bush administration and
congressional members and staff the expected changes from the
President's agenda. Also, you will hear from the staff of key
Congressional Health Committees about what they expect for rural
health care policy in the coming months.
CSRHA will Coordinate Capitol Hill Visits on Tuesday,
February 27, 2007
Capitol Hill visits are planned for Tuesday, February
27, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. CSRHA will coordinate
visits with California's U.S. Senators and members of the House
of Representatives from California's rural areas at your request.
In coordinated teams, we will visit our congressional delegation
to present a uniform message regarding rural health priorities
in California. CSRHA’s Advocacy Committee will develop the
California message at its February 2006 meeting. Prior to the
meeting, you will have an opportunity to provide input and discuss
how to carry the rural health message to lawmakers.
A questionnaire is attached
to assist CSRHA in outlining the issues you would like to
share during these visits. Please complete the questionnaire.
If you are not able to attend but would like to share your thoughts,
we still encourage you to complete the questionnaire.
