Special Federal Rural Health Budget Cut Alert! $16 Billion in Rural Hospital Cuts being Proposed in Washington D.C. – Immediate Action Needed

The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) has sent out the following special alert regarding a pending federal rural health hospital budget cut proposal.

The negotiating team working with the President to address the U.S. Debt Ceiling is considering cutting $16 billion out of rural hospital funding over a 10 year period of time. In California, this proposed cut would be devastating to our rural hospital and Critical Access Hospitals.

It is crucial that rural health providers and advocates contact their Congressional Members as soon as possible to alert them of this plan to cut funding to rural hospitals and Critical Assess Hospitals. Congressional members also need to be aware of the direct impact this will have in your communities.

Click here to view NRHA's Powerpoint which provides background information, who to contact, what to say and what not to say.
