Rural health has been the backbone of many rural communities in California for decades. Due to the resiliency and vigor of its community leaders and healthcare providers, rural communities in California have surpassed numerous challenges and continued to build networks of support to adapt to changing social and economic climates, and address the healthcare needs of its community.
The California State Rural Health Association (CSRHA) works to facilitate technical assistance, skills-building, forums for discussion and advocacy opportunities for rural communities to continue their outstanding efforts and stay abreast of current rural health issues. CSRHA’s 8th Annual Rural Health Conference provides an ideal venue, where workshops, exhibitors, motivating and informative speakers, and moments for celebration are captured in a single setting and are built for empowering rural communities.
Sustainable and proven applications for improving healthcare and building community in rural California, in addition to information updates on federal policy and regulations that affect rural districts, are just a few of the learning opportunities attendees will benefit from this year. All of our efforts towards building and promoting this year’s conference have been informed by the expressed needs of our rural health constituency, and we aim to prepare and empower our attendees for the most pressing rural health issues to come in 2009. Community leaders, health professionals, executives, legislators and analysts from throughout the state will be convening in Sacramento on December 1-3, 2008. We hope that you will be there as well.
