A Message From Our Board President, Kiki C. Nocella
2008….what a year! Many look back on 2008, happy and relieved that it is over. Yes, there were many, many difficult moments this past year for individuals, organizations, our nation and the world. But whenever there is difficulty, there is also opportunity, and that is how I chose to remember 2008 – as a year of opportunity.
CSRHA had many new opportunities present themselves this past year. We welcomed a new executive director. We welcomed 5 new board members. We said goodbye to employees and board members who have been instrumental in our development as an organization. And we welcomed new employees who are charting our future. Like the rest of the world, 2008 presented hardships, and yet opportunities for CSRHA.
As an organization we have chosen to embrace the changes and focus on solidifying our foundation during 2008. We have clarified our strategic priorities and focused on capacity building this past year; preparing our fields and planting seeds in order to “set sail” in 2009 from a place of organizational strength. We believe that it is only through such work that we can be of the greatest service to our members and provide advocacy and support to California’s rural communities.
Now, as we start 2009, CSRHA is excitedly anticipating harvesting its efforts in service to you, our membership. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the California State Rural Health Association, I want to wish you a healthy and prosperous 2009 and thank you for your continued partnership with us on behalf of rural Californians.
