Michelle Magaña has worked in the healthcare field for more than 9 years, joining CSRHA as Administrative Assistant in the spring of 2011. Prior to CSRHA, Michelle worked as a Medical Research Analyst for the Center of Disease Control at the California Cancer Registry, with a major focus on mandated physician Cancer Reporting Laws. From 2002 to 2008, she worked in an acute care setting at Mercy General Hospital as a Senior Office Assistant in Health Information Management. Michelle has a background in health labor/management work as a member of the Service Employees International Union, United Healthcare Workers (SEIU UHW), where she was a Shop Steward and a Delegate at the Central Labor Council. While a member of SEIU UHW, Michelle worked on and advocated for improving the quality of and access to healthcare in California. Michelle also has a background in working with state level legislators and candidate campaigns, most recently working with Dave Jones for Assembly campaign. Her focus in elective campaigns was on supporting officials involved with building a stronger, healthcare system in our state.
