Woody Laughnan, Jr. has a Bachelor of Science Degree, Business Administration from Fresno State University and a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas. He entered the field of hospital administration in 1968 as Employment Manager for Saint Agnes Hospital in Fresno, CA. He left this position to accept a Director of Human Resources position with Valley Children’s Hospital in Fresno, CA. His next move was to a position as Vice President of Human Resources with Providence Hospital in El Paso, TX.
From 1979–2004 he has held the positions of Chief Executive Officer for several small rural and Critical Access Hospitals, and has a demonstrated record of financial turnaround in distressed facilities. Senior leadership positions were held with Doctors Hospital, Manteca, CA; Memorial Hospital, Exeter, CA, and Colusa Regional Medical Center in Colusa, CA. Additionally, he served as the Vice President for Development with St. Jude Medical Center in Kenner, LA. His most recent experience includes a two-year Chief Executive Officer appointment at Benewah Community Hospital, St Maries, ID. He is the current Administrator for Glenn Medical Center in Willows, CA since 2004.
He serves on the GMC Governing Board, Glenn Medical Foundation Board, California State Rural Health Association Board and is a past member of Colusa Regional Medical Center Board.
