Mr. Woody Laughnan began his health care career following military service in Vietnam in 1966-68. He attended Fresno State University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He also attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where he earned a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration.
Woody’s initial healthcare appointment was as Employment Manager for Saint Agnes Hospital in Fresno, California in 1968. From this initial assignment Woody’s career path led to him to a Vice Presidency position in a major tertiary hospital in El Paso, Texas. With encouragement from his superiors, Woody elected to focus on Administrator and Chief Executive Officer opportunities again in the hospital industry.
In 1979 and 1980 Mr. Laughnan was hired as the Administrator for Avenal District Hospital in Avenal, California and from there moved on to the Chief Executive Officer position with Memorial Hospital in Exeter, California. With this appointment he joined Hospital Corporation of American, one of the country’s most prominent hospital management companies.
After six-years with Memorial Hospital in Exeter, Woody’s career path led him to other senior level and Chief Executive Officer hospital positions in California, Arkansas, Louisiana and Idaho. His most recent appointments include the CEO position at Colusa Regional Medical Center in Colusa, California from 1998 through 2002.
Following Colusa, Woody served as a Chief Operating Officer for a two hospital system in south Texas; then as Chief Executive Officer for Benewah Community Hospital in St. Maries, Idaho and currently as the Administrator for Glenn Medical Center in Willows, California. In this current position Woody has returned this facility from near closure to a positive financial position.
Mr. Laughnan enjoys working in the rural environment and not only serves as the Administrator of the hospital but a voting member of the Governing Board. He further serves as a Board Member for the Glenn Medical Foundation.
