The
California
State Rural Health Association (CSRHA) and the Rural
Health Research Network (RHRN) are delighted to invite
individuals with an interest in rural health research and evaluation
to submit abstracts for presentation during CSRHA’s 6th
Annual Rural Health Conference, Sharing
Common Ground -Finding New Approaches,
December 4-6 at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento, California.
The
CSRHA annual rural health conference is an exciting opportunity
for individuals to share the findings of their completed (or
nearly completed) research study to attendees, which will include
rural health care providers and administrators, clinicians,
educators, researchers, and local and state leaders and decision
makers.
All
submissions will be considered for a poster presentation by
the RHRN Steering Committee, and posters will be selected competitively
through a blind review process. Posters that report original
research in important topics to rural health are welcome for
submission.
The
following criteria will be used to evaluate all poster submissions:
- Originality
of work
- Relevance
or interest to CSRHA members
- Timeliness
- Quality,
clarity and completeness of the poster submission
In
addition, poster submissions covering research findings will be
evaluated on their potential significance to the discipline, on
soundness of the methodology, on any empirical, data-based results
that may be presented, and on indications or rigor.
Poster
submissions covering research on current policy issues will be
evaluated according to the soundness of the research method and
the potential contribution to policy discussion. Evaluation of
education, training, and programs will be judged according to
the assessment tools used, whether the results have general application,
and the originality and potential impact of the innovation. To

Poster
submissions must be received by Monday, October 23rd to be considered
for the review process! Submissions
must be emailed in MSWord to Desiree Rose, CSRHA Development Manager,
at drose@csrha.org.
Notification
of acceptance of poster presentation will be emailed by November
1, 2006.
Selected
poster presenters must be present at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento
on Tuesday, December 5th
at 3:30 p.m. to set up their posters. Presentations will occur
during the President’s Reception from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Presenters are responsible for their own conference registration,
hotel, and travel fees as well as all presentation materials.
CSRHA will notify presenters of poster specifications, including,
materials, such as velcro or push pins, and the maximum size of
the poster, in the November notification of poster acceptance.
