2008 Highlights

The 2008 Annual Rural Health Conference was a great success and we invite all of you to attend again.

With over 200 individuals representing over 150 organizations the Conference served as an excellent networking and informational two day meeting. It was an opportunity for California’s rural leaders to come together and explore opportunities for improving health in rural communities.

Marin HelldorferMartin Helldorfer, author of Healing with the Heart, presented an inspirational speech for healthcare professionals and reigniting ones passion for their work! CSRHA provided each attendee with a copy of Martin Helldorfer’s book and he was available for a book signing following his presentation! Legislative Town HallThe Legislative Town Hall Meeting Luncheon provided attendees an opportunity for a solution-oriented dialogue on policy issues impacting rural California with California’s legislators. Panelists included Senator Roy Ashburn, Senator Sam Aanestad, Michelle Cabrera, Legislative Aide for Senator Denishe Ducheny, Chuck Hahn, Chief of Staff for Senator Dave Cogdill, and Assemblymember Roger Niello. Marc ThibaultMarc Thibault and Steve Barrow of Results Strategies and Advocacy presented an interactive workshop to enhance participant’s knowledge of statewide efforts related to rural healthcare that could enhance their ability to address local needs. “This was the most valuable presentation!
