2002 Goals and 2001 Accomplishments

We believe it is important that the organization continue to offer quality programs and information consistent with your needs. Below is a list of our most recent accomplishments, which your membership supports:

  • Introduced an educational workshop series on “hot topics” in rural health;
  • Developed the biweekly Rural Health Advocate electronic news publication;
  • Provided the first rural health conference in California;
  • Improved our website with up-to-date information and links;
  • Offered exciting presentations at our annual business meeting;
  • Worked extensively with the media to educate the public about rural healthcare issues statewide;
  • Monitored and reported on federal and state rural health legislation through the Bulletin and email alerts; and
  • Supported approved legislation to study HMO pullouts of rural areas; and visited Washington DC to introduce members to Congressional representatives and to advocate for local health care issues needing federal support.

In addition, membership in CSRHA provides the following:

  • Reduced rates at conferences, workshops and meetings; and
  • Free advertisement of job opportunities in the Rural Health Advocate, our online electronic news.
