Our Mission

"Improving the quality and length of life of rural Californian’s
through advocacy, collaboration and education"

Since 1995, the California State Rural Health Association has been engaged in making sure that the needs and voices of rural Californians are expressed and heard!  In February 2017, the Board of Directors voted to continue that tradition and add to an initiative to engage the many non health organizations and individuals that have great impact on rural health.

Engaging All Elements That Impact Health Status

A recent study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation reveals that clinical services accounts for ONLY 20% of  factors that impact our health status. CSRHA strategies and initiatives are designed address all the areas of impact as shown below:

These factors are based on a model of population health that identifies and acknowledges that many factors impact a communities’ health.  Additional information on each of these factors is found on the Robert Wood Johnson website. http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/our-approach

CSRHA works with health organizations along with public health departments, city and county governments, consumer groups, local industry, major employers and others to collaborate on strategies and solutions that will allow rural communities to achieve optimal quality and length of life.
