The purpose of this program is to support national membership organization efforts focused on maternal and child oral health to assist their members to improve public oral health programs for women and children and the delivery of maternal and child oral health care services at the national, state and local levels.  More specifically, funding support will allow these organizations to develop and disseminate new information about maternal and child health in a format most useful to policy and decision makers concerned with developing MCH policies and programs in the public and private sectors at local, State and national levels; to gather information from their membership about issues of concern relating to maternal and child oral health; to assist members to work together and with staff from other service programs to solve maternal and child oral health problems; and, to more clearly articulate the particular needs of women, children and their families in the nation at large.  Strategies will be utilized that are focused on innovative and effective fundamental approaches to prevention, diagnosis, early intervention and treatment of oral disease, with focus on school-based comprehensive oral health access to services.

AMA Foundation Healthy Living Grants
Deadline: July 14, 2010

The AMA Foundation, with support from the AMA Alliance, began the Healthy Living Grant Program to address these critical issues. Based on the thought that local leaders can come up with the best solutions to these problems, this initiative supports grassroots organizations who are on the front lines in their communities. These grants provide critical funding that can jumpstart a project, affect change quickly, increase visibility for a project/organization, encourage collaboration and make a lasting difference in a community.The AMA Foundation is now accepting applications for Healthy Living Grants. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded and the number of grants will be determined after all applications are received. The AMA Foundation typically awards between 15-25 grants. Nonprofit organizations can submit no more than one application per year.

Coca-Cola Healthy Living Grant Program
Deadline: July 15, 2010

The Coca-Cola Company aspires to help people around the world lead active healthy lives through the variety and availability of the beverages we produce; ingredient, nutrition and health information we provide, our responsible marketing practices; and our support for physical activity programs. The Coca-Cola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Coca-Cola Company, is soliciting proposals from US-based organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code, that provide access to exercise; opportunity for physical activity and nutritional education. The Coca-Cola Company has a long tradition of supporting physical activity and nutrition education around the world and seeks effective partnerships to expand our programming. Grants will go to organizations that support families (parent(s) or guardian(s) and children) in the states of California, New York or Texas through programs that focus on physical activity and nutrition education for the entire family.

National Health Service Corps: Full Time Loan Repayment Program

Primary care medical, dental and behavioral and mental health clinicians working full-time at an approved National Health Service Corps site can receive $50,000 toward repayment of their health professions student loans for 2 years of service and can apply for additional support for extended service – as much as $145,000 for 5 years.

Comprehensive Cancer Control Program
Deadline: July 29, 2010

NewCalifornia's Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP), in collaboration
with the California Dialogue on Cancer, administers the California Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Program. The goal of the CRC Mini-Grant Award is to collaborate with
community-based organizations to raise awareness regarding colorectal cancer screening,
symptoms and prevention. Outreach efforts may be focused towards providers or the general
population. The CRC Program encourages all interested CBOs to propose innovative programs or activities aiming to educate health care providers or the general public in their communities on the screening options and symptoms of colorectal cancer.

CATCH Planning Funds Program
American Academy of Pediatrics

The Community Access To Child Health (CATCH) Planning Funds program provides grants in amounts from $2,500 to $12,000 for pediatricians to develop innovative, community-based initiatives that increase children's access to medical homes or to specific health services not otherwise available. Grants of up to $3,000 are available to pediatric residents.

AstraZeneca Connections for Cardiovascular Health Grant
Deadline: July 31, 2010

The newest program within the AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation is Connections for Cardiovascular Health. With the mission of improving cardiovascular health within the United States. The AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation will award Foundation grants of $150,000 and greater annually to US-based, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations or similar nonprofit organizations through its Connections for Cardiovascular Health program. To qualify for a Foundation grant, nonprofit organizations must be engaged in charitable work (at the community level or otherwise) that addresses the Foundation’s Connections for Cardiovascular Health mission, to improve cardiovascular health, by helping to address patient cardiovascular health issues, recognize and work to address an unmet need related to cardiovascular health in the community, respond to the urgency around addressing cardiovascular health issues including cardiovascular disease or conditions contributing to cardiovascular disease, improve the quality of patients’ and caregivers’ lives in connection with the services provided and work done.

National Rural Health Association RFP
Deadline: August 1, 2010

This request for proposal seeks participation from rural health care facilities and practitioners to investigate attitudes and perceptions regarding treatment options for early stage prostate cancer. Methodology will include both qualitative research (focus groups for both men and their wives/significant others) and quantitative research (completion of on-line questionnaires).  The data provided by these subjects will be reported to the lead institution, Emory University in Atlanta, and to the sponsor, the national Centers for Disease Control (CDC)  to develop a deeper understanding of the barriers encountered by rural men, and in particular African American men (AA), and their families regarding prostate cancer and prostate disease.

Partnerships Active in Communities (PAC) to Achieve Health Equity
Deadline: August 2, 2010

NewThe purpose of the PAC Program is to improve health outcomes among racial and ethnic minorities through the establishment of community-based networks that employ evidence-based disease intervention strategies; address social determinants and environmental barriers to healthcare access; and increase access to and utilization of preventive health care, medical treatment, and supportive services. The PAC Program intends to demonstrate the effectiveness of community-based networks in improving health outcomes among racial and ethnic minorities. In FY 2010 the PAC Program will support collaborative arrangements among minority serving community-based organizations, community-based health care entities, and social and supportive service providers that coordinate the provision of chronic disease management, evidence-based prevention and intervention programs, healthcare, social, and support services.

Union Pacific Community Based Grant Program
Deadline: August 14, 2010

The Foundation awards grants through an annual application process through which nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations located in Union Pacific communities may apply. Applications are accepted only through the online process. The Foundation requires that an organization be located in a community served by Union Pacific Railroad, is a 501(c)(3) public charity as identified by the IRS, or Municipality, and falls within one of the three areas of interest: Union Pacific Community, Public Charity or Municipality, Areas of Interest: Community and Civic, Fine Arts, Health & Human Services.

Gannett Foundation Community Action Grants

The Gannett Foundation, a corporate foundation sponsored by Gannett Co., Inc., serves local organizations in those communities in which Gannett Co., Inc. has a local daily newspaper or television station. Gannett Foundation grants have been established to help improve the quality of life and address the most pressing social and civic issues facing Gannett communities. Grants focus on projects for education and neighborhood improvement, economic development, youth development, community problem-solving, assistance to disadvantaged people, environmental conservation and cultural enrichment.

Expanding Diabetic Retinopathy Screening to Safety-Net and Rural Clinics
California Healthcare Foundation

Deadline: October 31, 2010

New(Third Funding Cycle) The aim of this initiative is to improve access to recommended diabetic retinopathy screening for patients with diabetes in community health centers, public health centers and rural health clinics in California by supporting the integration of remote diabetic retinopathy screening services into primary care settings. The ultimate goal is to prevent diabetes-related vision loss and blindness. The California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) encourages safety-net and rural clinics in California to apply for participation in the program.

DHHS & National Institutes of Health: Technology-Based Adherence Interventions for Substance Abusing Populations with HIV
Deadline: May 7, 2011

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) seeks to stimulate and support research on the development, determination of feasibility, and pilot testing of interventions that utilize technological tools (e.g., mobile enabling technologies, Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), enhanced Medication Event Monitoring System, computer software, portable digital devices, cell phone and/or Digital Assistant Device among others) to foster adherence to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) treatment regimens among substance abusing populations in naturally occurring timeframes and contexts.
