CSRHA
Seeks Members to Join Membership Development Taskforce
The
California State Rural Health Association (CSRHA) is actively
seeking volunteers to serve on its Membership Development Taskforce
to help us implement the 2006 Building the Rural Voice Membership
Development Campaign.
As
a member driven advocacy
organization representing rural California, CSRHA understands
the importance of numbers to have an effective voice in the
healthcare policy area. Therefore, the CSRHA Membership Taskforce
has set a very ambitious membership development goal for 2006
with the idea that a greater, more active membership base will
strengthen the rural message with policymakers, while increasing
CSRHA’s capacity to provide our members with the unique
programs and resources necessary to improve rural health and
healthcare access.
Kathy
Yarbrough, Executive Director of the Rural Health Design Network,
is the newly appointed Chair of the CSRHA Membership Development
Taskforce, and has taken on her new role with great enthusiasm.
“I
am very excited with this opportunity to increase the awareness
of the importance of individuals getting involved in the issues
of rural health," says Kathy Yarbrough. She continues to
say, "It is the responsibility of all of us who make our
homes in rural California to be active in the promotion and
success of our rural health systems. The California State Rural
Health Association was founded on the premise of grass roots
involvement and to ensure this level of activism we need to
encourage individuals to become members and be involved in the
issues facing our fragile communities."
The
Membership Development Taskforce will play a key role in CSRHA’s
effort to create a broader, more diverse membership base through
which the CSRHA Board of Directors and Advocacy Committee are
elected each year.
CSRHA
is looking for 3-5 committed volunteers who will contribute
to making CSRHA’s 2006 membership development goals a
reality.
Responsibilities of the Taskforce include the following:
- Meet
quarterly via telephone conference call with Taskforce
Chair, Kathy Yarbrough of the Rural Health Design Network
and CSRHA development staff
- Provide
recommendations and develop innovative outreach and recruitment
strategies
- Assist
with promoting CSRHA membership during rural health related
functions as appropriate
