Public Comment Deadline Extended for Proposed Changes to HPSA/MUA/MUP: June 30, 2008
This is a friendly reminder that Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has extended the public comment deadline to provide input about the impact the proposed Health Professional Shortage Area/Medically Underserved Area/Medically Underserved Population (HPSA/MUA/MUP) changes will have upon the communities you serve. You now have until June 30th to submit input directly to Andy Jordan at ajordan@hrsa.gov or at www.regulations.gov (where you can also see comments submitted from others across the nation).
We encourage you to take advantage of the next two weeks to continue to assess the full time equivalency (FTE) of the PAs, FNPs and CNMs practicing in your area, in order to determine whether you will qualify as a Tier 1 or 2 Geographic or Low Income shortage area under the proposed rules.
If you make a public comment, please cc: Desiree Rose at drose@csrha.org so we can continue to best advocate for rural California. To view the comments submitted by CSRHA, please click here.
