Improving Quality and Patient Safety in Rural Hospitals
The National
Rural Health Association's (NRHA) Quality and Clinical
Conference is an interactive educational opportunity designed
for quality improvement coordinators, performance improvement
coordinators, rural clinicians, medical students, and quality
improvement organizations practicing on the front lines in rural
health care. Taking place July 15-17, 2008 in San Diego, California,
this important, cutting-edge conference will provide tools,
research and collaborative opportunities to improve quality
of care in rural hospitals and integrate population health concerns
into clinical practice.
Learn how researchers at the University of Nebraska Medical
Center have refined the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
(AHRQ) Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture for small rural
and critical access hospitals during the session "Rural
Safety Culture. "
Improve the care delivery system at your rural facility and
improve patient outcomes with the guidance of QIO experts during
"Leveraging Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Rural
Hospital Success into Future Opportunities."
Understand the successful rural-specific quality measures outlined
in "Quality of Care in the Rural Environment."
Use root-cause analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
in your facility in preventing decubitus ulcers in "Decreasing
Potential for Inpatient Decubitus Ulcers through Performance
Improvement."
Take a step towards eliminating health care disparities with
telemedicine in the session "Extension for Community Health
Outcomes."

in this high-quality conference! This conference has been approved
for 13.5 CPHQ continuing education credits by the National Association
for Healthcare Quality, and credit is pending from the American
Academy of Family Physicians and the Virginia Nurses Association.
