CONTINUTING MEDICAL
EDUCATION:

Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit is available for attendees of the Strategies to Recruit and Retain Rural Healthcare Professionals workshop. To receive CME credit, register to attend the workshop today and on the day of the workshop, sign up to receive CME credit onsite. The workshop and CME credit is FREE to rural providers and advocates.

Northern Sierra Rural Health Network (NSRHN) is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. NSRHN takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity.

NSRHN designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in an activity. This credit may also be applied to the CME Certification in Continuing Medical Education.

OTHER HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS MAY USE CME CATEGORY 1 CREDIT FOR RELICENSURE

RNs, NPs, PAs and clinical psychologists may be able to use these credits for re-licensure. All non-physicians requesting them will receive certificates of attendance.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Recruiting and retaining health care workers is a major challenge for rural healthcare providers. This program will provide some basic psychological principles and specific activities to assist rural healthcare providers in building a rural healthcare workforce.

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify basic principles for successful recruitment and retention.
  2. Provide conceptual “hooks” for the specific examples of techniques, programs and interventions that will be discussed by Morris Eagleman.
  3. Structure a leadership team
  4. Establish on Organizational Development program
  5. Know the drivers of nurse turnover
  6. Describe how to implement programs that enhance retention
